Historic Partnership Signed to Advance Recovery and Rehabilitation in Ukraine
The Ukrainian Alliance for Medical Exchange and Development (UA-MED) has entered a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, led by Minister Matvii Bidnyi. Represented in Ukraine by the Global Medical Knowledge Alliance, a core UA-MED member, this agreement marks a new chapter in Ukraine’s recovery and resilience efforts.
This milestone builds on years of collaboration between Ukrainian and international partners, particularly the work of Valeriy Sushkevich, President of the Ukrainian Paralympic Committee. Joint initiatives at the Paralympics Center of Excellence in the Carpathian Mountains have demonstrated how sport, community, and international cooperation can transform rehabilitation for veterans and people with disabilities.

The MoU outlines a strategic framework to:
- Expand adaptive sports programs for veterans, youth, and people with disabilities
- Advance physical, psychological, and medical rehabilitation for those impacted by war
- Support vocational training, social integration, and wellness initiatives
- Promote international research, innovation, and evidence-based practice in sports and rehabilitation medicine
- Coordinate humanitarian aid and technical assistance in line with Ukrainian law and global standards
n the context of war, this partnership is more than an agreement. It is a commitment to national healing, a pledge to empower future generations, and a testament to the courage of veterans and communities who have sacrificed so much.
The initiative also complements UA-MED’s ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Healthcare Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, and other healthcare institutions across Ukraine. Together, these efforts form part of a unified national strategy for recovery, resilience, and reintegration, reflecting UA-MED’s mission to modernize healthcare and foster lasting global partnerships
